Just arrived today, 2002 Gibson CS-336...like a 335 but the size of an LP; semi-hollow.

They are nice, lightweight, narrow compared to an LP, and have exceptional tone to them. This is my 2nd one; I had a short run 2008 green one that was just too pretty to play! I ended up trading it for my Carol-Ann. This one, being older, will definitely get played.
This was the previous one

I think you made a good move IMHO...the sunburst is the biz.......they are mad looking guitars, like a 335 that ended up in the tumble dryer a bit longer than it was supposed to.....i would imagine the body is very comfortable to play due to it's slightly smaller size...

Most definitely...more comfortable than the LP due to the thin body and lighter weight (even though my Standard Faded is chambered, it still gets heavy after a while...I'm a small guy.

Wow mclmk8d - that guitar has beautiful markings - congrats. I looked at one a while back but yours is much better looking. Very, very nice - enjoy it.

I was so reluctant to play the green one that I decided to trade or sell it. Gibson was no longer offering green 336s. When I spoke to them, they said they had done a very short run; that just convinced me that I was doing the right thing. I'm happy with the Carol-Ann, though I can't play it too loud...100 watts is loud at 1 on the knob. Alan Philips builds amazing stuff.
The 2002 336 is nice; the previous owner took good care of her; and I always like Vintage sunbursts.

Believe me, I am very well acquainted with GAS...4 amps, 6 guitars(one I'm trying to trade for a 72 50 watt Marshall), bunch of pedals...
