| Anybody else noticing a steep price rise in some older Boss Drum machines lately? Most notable the DR-55 and the DR-110. |

Hi Right Foot Boss
You can still occasionally find a cheap DR-110 here on Oz evilbay. People don't seem to appreciate them much --- yet.
I bought mine (New) when they were first released here in Oz. And I have kept it in minty condition, for future folks to appreciate.

Hi Dr. Bob - hope you are well. I've got a minty DR-55 - and like you, I bought it new when they first came out and I've kept it like that. I dig it out from time to time for fun - it's not midi so it's a bit tricky to integrate into the studio but it sounds great.
Maybe we've stumbled on the next vintage drum machine dance craze |

Hi The_Doc Yes, I am as well as can be expected for a young whipper snapper. Are you still recording in your studio? PM if you wish.
I hope you did not misunderstand, I purchased a DR-110 not a DR-55. MIDI or not, I did get a lot of use out of it. I later upgraded to a TR-707, & then to VSTi on a workstation,
The DR-110 still has a decent set of sounds, As a interesting idea, try recording the handclap on the DR-110, to tape with dBx On, & then play it back with the dBx OFF, it's a great effect on the handclap.
Regards Dr. Bob

My poor use of the English language Dr. Bob - I thought that you had the DR-110!
Interesting idea on the handclap / dBx - there's a handclap sound on my Casio RZ-1 that might benefit from that - I'll give it a go.

Not a lot of recording going on at the moment - just a couple of backing tracks completed for Claire to add the vocals to - when she can find the time - teenagers eh? The band and I are gearing up for a one-off benefit gig for a number of charities that support the families of people serving in our armed forces - sold out and we could have sold 4 times as many tickets - so no pressure there then! I'll pm you with an update when things settle down - crazy times |
