It sounds like a problem with the server. I've noticed a few problems over the last week too. One minute it's working fine, the next there's no response at all.
1and1's standard reply is that everything looks fine right now.  They never announce any planned downtime and they never report any unplanned downtime so it's a real pain.

Folks, I wonder if anyone else is experienceing the same thing I am - the forum seems to be down about 30% to 50% of the time for me? It also seems as though the posting "rate" has declined?
Assuming what I'm seeing is real for everyone else, I was wondering if there is anything we can do to help with this?

I've noticed the same thing over the last week or so. Maybe not as bad as 50% of the time but certainly a lot more than normal. |

Could be routing issues far up the ISP backbones.. |

seems like i'm having trouble with my login cookie staying active lately.
not sure if that is related to anything going on here but happens on multiple computers for me.

hehe... i used to host a few freeBSD Quakeworld servers on a couple of dual pentium pro boxes i had. we hid one in a U of washington computer lab and it took em a few years to find it. brings back some memories.
i played Q2 and Q3 for a bit, but kept getting banned in Q2 because people said i was using an aim bot because of my rail accuracy. played Q3 a bit but kept getting ping flooded during CTF matches after my frag count was way up during the first 5-10 mins (even though it was captures only league) and it eventually got lame for me. |
