Hi nathanscribe
Just a quick heads up. And my 2 cents worth.
You mention that it: quote:
Comes with fresh battery.
Can I make a suggestion, that you & other members no longer ship items with batteries installed, & especially attached to the power clip.
The playing field really changed after the 911 incidents. Battery + Electronics + Xray machine + shipping by plane could = bomb.
The situation can be even worse if you ship items overseas.
If you do ship the item with a battery, please make sure that you, declare it on the customs docket that you attack to the package. Perhaps something like: "Guitar pedal - 9V battery included inside pedal case not connected." "Value 25 pounds"
But I would suggest you err on the side of caution, & leave it out, considering the trouble that could occur, for the cost of a battery.
I really like the look & build quality of the Biyang pedals.
I'd love to own one, just to mount on a concertina telescopic arm, to the bathroom wall, as a Shaving Mirror (So Shinny).
Can I ask you to take some internal pics before you sell it/them off?
Regards Dr. Bob |

..say it comes with a fresh battery eh? That could clinch the sale for some
That Biyang phaser sure is purty.. How does it sound?

Dr. Bob - never thought of that. Thanks for the info. Actually the battery is still in its cellophane wrapping, and has never been connected to the battery clip. It is inside the compartment though. The pedal (which came with the battery inside) was bought brand new a couple of months ago, so the battery should still be good to go. Would this still cause a problem, do you think? Are you talking about a physical danger, or fear on the part of customs/security?
DeFrag - as I say, although it looks like the Biyang's been based on the MXR Phase 100, I've never used a 100 so can't compare how they equate/differ. Compared to my other phasers though (EHX Small Stone & Boss RPH-10) the Biyang is more subtle, and is focussed less on the bass end than the top. It clips slightly easier than the others, but bear in mind I'm using these things for keys, not guitar, and so I'm putting a hot signal through. I tend to have to drop the volume by up to half for various effect pedals with keys, so this is not unusual.
The two switches are not documented but they seem to provide alternatives for the resonance and no. of stages. I might be wrong there, but one makes it sound thicker, the other squishier.
It's not a bad sounding thing, and I'd keep it if I didn't need a cash injection. The Cool Cat sounds good, but the sweep doesn't go slow enough for my liking, and as it's all SMD in there with an awkward pot value, it's going to be hard to mod - so I'll just try something else. Probably the EHX Stereo Polyphase next, though I'd like the MoogerFooger...

Hehe, its almost a LAW that the first or most practical Mooger is the RingMod due to its versatility as an extra LFO, superior tremolo sound, & of course the requisite Ring itself. |

Hi nathanscribe First of all, apologies for taking your (FS), off topic. quote:
The pedal (which came with the battery inside) was bought brand new a couple of months ago, so the battery should still be good to go. Would this still cause a problem, do you think? Are you talking about a physical danger, or fear on the part of customs/security?
It is more the caution & direction, that customs & security have been mandated to take, especially aftermath of 911.
As I suggested, you could make a declaration on the Customs Form that there is a battery included but not connected. The final decision is up to you.
And as I did mention, I brought this up as more of a heads up
I would be interested to hear other members comments on this topic. Especially people that ship items overseas.

I've bought some Boss stuff over the net from the U.K and Germany and Boss used to ship their pedals with a battery(don't know if they still do) but that was within the EU so i don't know if this counts.... plus i think Thomann in Germany ship their stuff by roadtrain so it probably wouldn't be as strict.....
