Man, I couldn't be more happier then to read this good news. Apparantly, both Daves buried the hatchet and Ellefson will rejoin Megadeth just in time to celebrate the 20th birthday of their 1990 masterpiece "Rust in peace".
This guy belongs in Megadeth, and while other bassplayers like James McDonough and especially (in my regards) James Lomenzo did an outstanding job, I always felt that something was missing. Dave is one of my bass heroes, after all I stole my bass picking and palm muting techniques from him
So I'm glad he's back.

Now if Marty Friedman would return, that would be 3/4s of one of the best Megadeth lineups of all time! |

Actually after White Lion, James was the bass player on Zakk Wylde's Pride & Glory CD and then was in Black Label Society briefly, so while it may seem the jump from White Lion to Pride & Glory seems strange, from BLS to Megadeth isn't. Plus, I think since James is from the NY area, and Zakk is originally from NJ, I think they may have met up that way.... |

Yeah, he was alright. I think he's put out a number of solo albums since then, but unless I am mistaken, I think he may be doing some fusion stuff now (sort of like Alex Skolnick from Testament does when he's not playing with Testament). |
