I sent this question to him, let's see if he answers: "I have to ask... you'll ship overseas, but not to Canada? What's up with that? Africa, Eastern Europe, anywhere dodgy, hell, even Antartica are all OK... but the neighbours aren't? I want to bid on these, but you gotta be willing to put a couple of extra stamps on them at the post office and send USPS to Canada.
Regards, Laurie." |

I'll be curious to see the response. The seller says, "I no longer ship to Canada". Something must have happened.
Look on the bright side. Those pedals will get bid up to some stupid amount that you wouldn't have paid anyway. :)

He got stung with a receiver refusing to pay the tax/brokerage on a FedEx shipment. He won't send USPS which is easier for everyone concerned and has no risk of fees coming back to the sender... (too busy to wait at the post office).

Well there is the challenge... the ONLY way to get reasonable cross-border charges to Canada is with USPS. Sending UPS will result in a minimum of about $20 fees. I have to say that if you say USPS, you really do need to send it USPS - I won't accept any shipment not sent USPS and I check explicitly that it will be USPS used before the auction ends. |

UPS charges exorbitant brokerage fees (which are waived if you pay a tiny bit more for a "business" service.. I did it once but can't remember exactly how!).. They also have stupid delivery schedules and ask you to be home all day (only to end up delivering in the evening).
In almost all cases the post office is better - and they WILL provide tracking to Canada, as I've tracked packages on the USPS website before. You just have to pay UPS-style fees I think.. at least there's no brokerage then.
A seller should definitely honour the text of their auction - I had a dispute with a guy whose auction said "$10 shipping to Canada" and he wanted to charge me $22 or something.. |

Laurie, you'd be proud of me. I had one of your fellow countryman ask if I would ship to Canada & I agreed. I even stood in line at the Post Office.
BTW, I was told that if I paid for the postage online & brought the completed (printed) customs forms with me (shipping through ebay does all of this), I could just drop the package like I do all others. I took some of the special customs form envelopes with me so that I have them for next time. YPOMV (Your post office may vary). |

Well the post office does not have a way to ship overseas with a tracking number. How do i know that you got the item. You can always say that i didn't get the item. when actually you did.then i have to refund your money. So i am out cash and the item that i sold to you. |

That's true, sadly, but most people ships their parcels without tracking number. I got 3 of my four pedals without a tracking number and I noticed that when I paid because it was much cheaper. |
