anyone have any experience with these guys? I think there have been 3 different series: the BX-400, BX-600, and BX-800 came first; then they lost a zero (BX-40, BX-60, BX-80); and then finally the last zero was truncated with the BX-4, BX-8, and BX-16. I guess the biggest disadvantage of these mixers in a live/studio setting is the lack of balanced mic inputs (1/4" inputs only). however, can anyone comment on which of the three series is 'the best' (or which series to stay away from)? thanks in advance....

Personally I love the single numbered ones. 4, 6, 8, & 16. Best of options. But yes they sadly are 1/4" inputs only.

I use mine strictly as a useful and appropriate mixer to bring together all my Boss pedal chains into unanimous harmony.

I use my bx-800 to get the signal from a microphone or casette player into the input of my computer, works well.
