you said you got your info from the online manual... then you should have access to the sd-2 manual, too. you can get the manual here http://www.bossus.com/backstage/product_manuals/. all you have to do is register your email address (if you haven't already) and you'll have free access to just about every boss/roland manual ever made. i printed the ones for all my stuff and put them in a binder for easy reference.
the polarity just means... well, kinda hard for me to put into words, but it's a simple enough concept. for your sd-2, if the polarity switch is in one position then the light on your fs-6 will be on when you're in lead mode, then the light will go out when you switch to crunch mode.
then if you flip that polarity switch to the other position the opposite will happen: light off in lead mode, light on in crunch. just set it to your preference, it doesn't really matter in this case.
for your dd-5, however, i think it does matter which way the polarity is (but i could be wrong). just try it each way and see which one works.
i tried to explain this well, but maybe someone else here could do a better job.
the more important matter is to just remember to set the switch for the sd-2 in latching mode, and the switch for your dd-5 in momentary mode.
hope this helps!
EDIT: i looked up the manuals for both of your pedals. for the dd-5, set the polarity switch to the left. it didn't specify for the sd-2 because like i said it's up to you. just be sure to set the knob to "crunch (remote)" mode! |
