I took some internal pictures of the J-5 that you can see here:
http://www.bossarea.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4147&whichpage=7

There's absolutely nothing inside it so it can easily be made using a few she-jacks and a suitable enclosure.

Hi everybody
I might be a little slow here but i cant see a use for this .Is it a 4 way splitter? and if so as it is not active it would not only suck out a lot of your tone and reduce your gain levels but also probably cause earth loop problems as there is no isolation or buffering on the input or the outputs. Apart from its rare and collectable appeal I dont see a need for it?

I was watching this too. I thought it was ridiculus once it reached the $50 mark. I saw one with the box go for $25 a few months ago. Heck even Killer Kas sells his for $30 - $40.

Yes neala it's a splitter, and I hope some one with a bit of knowledge on this chimes in about your other questions. I'd also like to know seeing how i use one.

It's just a piece of wire... one input hard wired to four outputs (a "four way Y-cable", if you like). Designed for line level gear (keyboards etc) I think - so tone suck would be less of a problem.

That being said, in 30 years I've never had occasion to need something like this... Perhaps that's why they are so rare
