Yikes. I'm not a fan (of the DS-1 or Steam Punk), but I guess some people are into that sort of thing... |

What!!!!! No Rusty Silver Screw.
Then it's NOT a genuine "Steam Punk Custom Boss DS-1" ...

You don't like the DS-1!? I am disappoint! Have you tried a long dash MIJ?
As for steam punk - your point is approved. |

Slap me if I hurt your feelings now, but I really, really, really don't like the DS-1! Till the BOSS deal of the music shop I work in has been cancelled in 2003, I regularly sold the DS-1 and tested it from time to time for myself. I never liked it. I had two DF-2's which (as far as I know) use a quite similar distortion curcuit and I hated the distortion and played the DF-2 with gain at minimum and another distortion pedal after it. I did never come near a really old DS-1, but if it does only sound twice as good it will still not be my favourite distortion pedal. Besides I hate the look of the three-big-knobs pedals, so I even don't like it optically.
But I bet that you won't like some of my well-loved pieces as well and I won't hate you for it since tastes differ! |

Funny, I'd love to have at least one of them. Feels so classy... |

I find some steampunk stuff cool and some is just 'lets glue old shit to something and call it steampunk'.
This is definitely the latter. |

I didn't like the DS-1 either...then I tried it. My 1st was an 04 MIT, now also have 4 MIJ's. It's not the be all end all of distortion boxes, but it just nails that 80's metal/rock sound. Just tonight I was playing "Crazy Nights" by Loudness, the DS-1 took me back to 1985. |

Yeah Merv, I've been around a little while! And yes Loudness was from Japan. Back then it seemed like every country had a metal band or bands, MTV was in it's infantcy and they actually played videos! Anyone remember Gorky Park? That was the Russian metal band. |
