Guys, the more I listen to this, the more I like it.
Blue screen of death is a particular favorite. Very Roger Waters influenced in my opinion, and very well done... Sounds a little like the album "Amused to Death" (that's a HUGE compliment).
I'd be really interested to know if the voices are samples, or you guys?
Thanks very much, Laurie, I will have to try to find that album. A few people have commented on a Syd Barrett influence, which is odd considering neither of usd are into Pink Floyd.
On BSOD, there are the following samples:
0'11' - from the final scene of "Dr.Strangelove" 0'23" - from "The I.T. Crowd" 0'35" - 3'10" is my circuit-bent Speak'n'Spell glitching as it runs through it's vocabulary (double tracked and panned L & R) 3'30" - from vintage BBC news footage about 'Baby', one of the earliest computers
All other vocals, including the rant in the middle, are by DG.

We still can't quite believe this, but Norfolk-based indie record label, EGRESS will be putting out Distant Guns' next EP.

We are immensely happy and completely bewildered.
Please feel free to share your thoughts on this baffling occurence, before the universe blinks out of existence and God is revealed as the ultimate prankster.

Great stuff..... ... has a touch of the floyd in places and that also from me is a huge compliment as the floyd are one of my favourite bands.....the 'bent circuit' speak n spell... .. i don't know if your interested but i was messing with a analogue sweep echo patch on my pod xt pro and when you turn the feedback control up full your can get some interesting sounds,i'm sure any analogue delay will probably do the same thing........ good luck with the new EP............... |

Thanks, fellas, glad you liked it!
It was actually done for a songwriting challenge where we were all given random titles and had one month to write and record a song.
For anyone else who would like to hear it, you can get it here:
