Bit the bullet and purchased a Boss DC-3 'Space-D' from eBay, even though I already have a DC-3 'Digital Dimension'.

Congrats
That's a sure sign that you're getting too serious about your collection. No worries, you're not alone

...in my opinion DC-3 isn't really that great sounding. It sounds cold and digital...DC-2 with buttons is much better one.

But old trusty CE-2 beat them all. The most musical sounding!!! :)

I agree to a certain point, DC-2 is better sounding but not as versatile.
CE-2 is great and for years it has been my favourite. But I also like both CE-5 and CH-1 a lot, I only have the analog versions, those are great choruses too.
DC-3 sounds best when used subtle, and of course when used in stereo with two amps.
