Are there some fanatics of the ME-8B ?
I really LOVE this yellow stuff. The presets are crappy (yeah, really...), but when you turn all off and begin to listen to one effect at a time...
I especially find the synths huge...
I think it's the toy I could play with the most. Something like "I gonna play some bass ! Oh, here's my ME-8B ! Why not plug it ?"
Later...
Later...
much, much later...
"Honey, come sleep, now ! It's 3 AM !"

I didn't ever owned the ME-50B, but I tested lots of time. The synths seemed really bad, yep.
The ME-8B synths are numerous, first. Separate in 2 section, one "purely" synth and the other more like imitating synths (i assume it's basically some fuzz with filters).
You can blend every sound with dry sound, you can add an octave down with the octaver. You can compress before, so the traking is better. You can add every effect you want on, like reverb, delay, chorus... The CTRL footswitch offers some interesting settings, like Slow Gear...
All of this makes this multi fx a good tool for synth sounds.
Concerning the sound of the synths alone, it goes from tiny to really, really huge. The "Sens" settings is wide, you can set it so it triggers just as you move your finger on the strings... really scary.
It's cheaper than a Deep Impact, a G5 or a EHX Micro Synth, it's also different. You should try it. |
