You'll probably want to check your serial number, as the guide suggests that there are both analog and digital versions of this pedal (and the latter is probably less similar to the CE-2 than the former, above and beyond the additional adjustability).
having own (owned) both pedals, I believe you'd find that the CE-2 is very warm and rich sounding, but lacks ability to dial in how much chorus you want. CE-5 has a level control which is a great feature.
It pretty much boils down to taste - I did find that the CE-2 has a very sweet presence about it that is somewhat missing from the latter boss chorus pedals. IMO.
I think it's night & day. I pretty much hate my CE-5, but find the CE-2 indearing on pretty much any setting. (I have the analog version of the CE-5 for reference)
Also though I do not believe there is hardly any sound difference between the CE-5 Analog and CE-5 Digital
