Stop searching Ebay. I got the one.
I swear I'll try all I can to save it. Considering the condition, I can't say I'll manage...

That is one sick looking CE-3!!!
Looks like it's spent it's life living on the Titanic!
You've set the benchmark for rough looking pedals there - can anyone do any better?! |

Wow! it looks like salt water/sea air corrosion, I wonder where it was stored? I'm surprised how good the circuitry looks in comparison.
You could say it offers a lot of scope for renovation - it could actually be a lot more fun than if you had just got one in good condition. Clean up and leave relatively unchanged externally to preserve its 'character', or completely renovate & refinish? That one's got to be pretty much unbeatable for that 'well-used' look |

Is that the original rust? At least the delicate label is fairly intact. You may be able to salvage the PCB after stripping all the components! OMFG that is one ugly pedal. I can only hope it passed sweet, sweet music through its conductors before being butt-barfed out of that seagull overhead... *ICK*
Maybe we can take up a collection for Basstyra; someone donate the backplate, someone else a coupla knobs, others might offer another dead BOSS for the enclosure. I'll kick in the font |

| It looks like some ancient pirate booty that's been discovered by National Geographic after 300 years of being a home for small sea beasties. |

Luckily, the reaction which made the paint go like this (how do we say "increase the (physical) volume" in english ??) kinda blocked the joint between backplate and inside. Which explain IMO why the circuit seems so intact. Humidity couldn't go further.
I'll bet for a basement in a coastal area (humifity + salt)
I'm sure it can be working. The BF-2 I got with it was not attacked like this, but the guts of the BF-2 (rear of the PCB especially) were in worse condition (i added a pic in the BF-2 thread. Which makes me thing I should have done a single thread with the two, I'm sorry...).
Yep, it seems it's gonna be a sweet repair. I'll try to keep the original box, if I can (the switch part seems really stuck...)
I'll let you know of course... |

I just opened the switch. I had to break it to do so... Well, it has been easily broken, the metal is rotten deeply...
I'll try to rehouse it in a CE-3 case I've got for a long time. And see if it works... |

That is a great looking pedal man!!
Would be fun when you get it to work [it does not work at the moment eh??], sometimes it is more fun when they look like this instead of being in pristine condition. |

Basstyra, just for a joke, you should put it on Ebay with the following title.
MINT CE-3. used once for about an hour
MIJ
box included
sorry, no manual.

What's wrong with it? It's a BOSS, so it should still work! |
