Hi guys, I'm writing from Italy, this is a new place for me, and I'm having fun reading all these interesting forums. I'm about to buy an HM2, but I don't know if I could have problems with my PSA adapter. I have a chain of 4 boss pedals fed with a daisy chain starting from the 1st pedal, the TU2. I know that the HM2 work both with 12 and 9V, do you think I have to buy another adapter? If yes I need a 12 or 9 V ? I could choose to buy another pedal, like MT2, if it could be more easy to put into my pedalboard
Thanks to everyone, and sorry for my english |

Hi demon dave
Welcome to the forum from Australia.
I like your MySpace page - good track as well.
You can you power a ACA pedal with a PSA power supply. Read the info on this link. (half way down) This is one our most common questions. http://www.bossarea.com/other/aca.asp
If you can solder or have a Tech friend. You can also do a simple mod to convert it to always work on a 9VDC PSA. It's just one or two wire links, depending on how you go about it.
The HM-2 is a great pedal.

Thank you Noisemaker, I like most the Hm2 too, but I don't know where to find an aca adapter, and what are the differences from PSA? |

Thanks Dr Bob, I'm glad you like that song, that's my voice singing a Glenn Hughes cover. Anyway you think I could feed all my chain (5 pedals included the HM2)with a single psa conected into the TU2 and a daisy chain? It would be great... |

Hi demon dave It very much depends on the pedals. Each pedal has a certain amount of current in (mA) milliAmps that it draws from the power supply.
Basically you have to add up all the current for each pedal & then see if is more than about 60-75% of the 300mA or so, that the PSA can deliver. You shouldn't run the PSA ora any plug pack at 100% of it rated current, it can get quite hot.
But if all your 5 pedals are low current types - then 5 pedals COULD be possible.
So you will have to type up a list of pedals, for us to figure it out. Someone here has a link to a current consumption list, that I have lost track of at the moment. But they are all listed in the main section of the website, under Compact Pedals: http://www.bossarea.com/
Is that a picture of you with the electric Devils horns? -- Or are you the front man-singer? Your outfits in the band pic are so cool...

Yes I'm both, the frontman singer end the face with the elctric horns, that's me, it's my cover band...
My chain of pedals is the next: TU2-SD1-(HM2)-CH1-NS2 And I've decided to get the HM2 MIJ, doesn't matter witch adapter I'll need to make it work properly. I hope you'll help me for that. |

Hi demon dave From the data in the Compact Pedals section
TU2 - 55mA SD1 - 4mA to 6mA HM2 - 10mA CH1 - 15mA NS2 - 20mA
Total approx 105mA
Looks Ok demon dave That's about 33% (1/3) loading on the 300mA PSA.
But as always - be cautious & keep an eye on the temperature, of the PSA power adapter.
And lets see what the other Tech guys have to say as well. As I don't use PSA adapters, I have a custom high current supply.

Tank you Dr Bob I was doing the same, I'd posted the same post as you, and I'd delete it... Ok I'll wait for another's point of vew, I love this forum/site, I can learn so much. An I think i can use 2 daisy chains with 2 different Psa. One starting from the TU2, the sencond from the NS2. Both with 3 pedals, so I'll need to buy anther boss. Ahaahhahahha the GAS is started |
