The Op-Amps have been replaced with sockets and "Portugal" TI ICs..

What's with people not stating serial numbers of old or rare gear?!

Hi verivorax

I spotted that one about 30 mins ago, I can't quite make out the date codes on the IC's.
The cheap single wipe IC sockets are a dead giveaway.

I'm guessing that the seller might not even know that it was moddded.

I will ask one of my friends, to pose the "did you mod it question".

If you look closely near the power connector there is a hand-drawn little graphic showing outer is "+" and inner is "-".

I'm guessing that they blew up the original op-amps with reverse polarity?

Hi Guys
Here is the reply from the seller.
(Thanks Justin)

And I tend to agree with Laurie's observations, about blowing the original Op-Amps with reverse polarity.

As a side thought, they might be a JFET Op-amp low noise mod...

I bought the pedal about 5 years ago and it hasnt had any work done to it since I've owned it. Its a 30yr old pedal so I cant speak for its other 25years of life. It shows the signs of a pedal its age but has been looked after but definately had its share of gigging. I have gigged with it for a few years too. What are the mods that you can see? I would be curious to know.

oooo i love a good phaser!

interesting about the chips being changed, even more so that the guy had no idea! its a shame he realised its old and worth a bit, might have attracted less interest if he didnt. which leads to me to my question, how much will it go for? im going to say $100AU. it is a little beat up though... would bid on it but currently 25hrs worth of flying time seperates me!
