I think you really hit the nail on the head. Your description of your settings has called up a hazy vision (flashback...whoa!) of how I set my BF-2 back in the day when I was playing bars and frat parties ('84-ish). I can remember that little inward-pointing configuration on the rate and depth knobs. And, I'm pretty sure that's NOT how I have them set now. I'll have to go home and check.
You may have saved my BF-2 from an ignominious removal from the pedalboard.
if i remember correctly you have a CE3 last on your pedalboard rich...why not try what i described,copy the rate and depth settings on both pedals and if possible try running from the ce3 to two amps add in a bit of your analog delay and go for gold bro'..... hope this was of some use.......
I dumped the CE-3 in favor of a CE-2. It's pretty good for Police-ish stuff with the depth maxed, but the flanger (at least as I remember it) is better.
Andy Summers, though infamous for using chorus, didn't actually have a chorus on his original Cornish pedalboard. All his "chorus" sound was an Electric Mistress. I think the BF-2 can sound similar.
i have the reissued synchronicity concert on dvd and you can see the cornish board for a few seconds when the camera pans across andy summers and i'm fairly sure at that stage he was using a ce2....it looks like it's lying beside the board and was added on at a later stage.... i know the board that pete cornish built for gilmour has spare send/returns for adding in extra pedals so i reckon summers probably had some too....just goes to show even the big boys like to experiment and change pedals as much as the rest of us.......
i know this is slightly off topic, but joe walsh's pedal board is still evolving, and he is a BIG boss fan. i remeber seeing a picture of his board and i think they were all boss pedals!
but back on topic, here are my settings for my bf-2;
manual- max depth- 1 oclock rate- 11 oclock res- between 12 and 1
timbo...i'm not sure if you know this 'bro but check out www.bossus.com and then click on featured artist on top of the page there is a heading 'features' with past interviews of famous boss users the is one with joe walsh titled'the everlasting eagle' which shows pics of his pedalboard and the rest of the eagles ones as well.... some of the other interviews are cool as well....i.e johnny hiland etc....
sorry if i went off topic with this but i think it's a site well worth checking out....
