Some chick at a pawn shop said she'd let me have a decent looking OD-2r for $25 USD...Should I go for it?...I need an overdrive and noticed some of you guys like them...So any thoughts would be cool...

peace

For $25 it's a great buy. Yes, go for it.

I'll second the go for it, especially if it's decent looking. I have two OD-2's and one OD-2r.

I think it's awesome how all the replies are strictly from a collecting POV, and don't mention tone at all...(How can you tell we're severe addicts)

Tonally, I really dig this pedal. I have an OD-2, and the OD-2r is supposed to be exactly the same when Turbo is off, and a little louder in comparison when the Turbo is engaged. I'm unsure as to whether the 'r' model also incorporates only discrete components, but maybe somebody else might know. Both tones, nonetheless, are very useable, and hold their own very well compared to the other Boss stompboxes.

For $25 - can't believe you're even thinking about it - I'd have bought it on the spot!!

Tone-wise I love this pedal. It's not quite got the same Mojo as my JRC Chip OD-1 but very close. $25 is a steal!

I think the price is very good, but personally I dont like OD-2r that much, but its better than OD-2. My OD-2 has very low gain/output volume even with nearly full settings.
