Behringer are a consumate third party operation, ie they are primarily interested in tapping into other companies markets (much like Sigma in the camera world - their lenses are made for Canon and Nikon mounts - but are cheaper than either). I'm pretty sure they had Boss users in mind when designing the PB1000. There would have to be more users of Boss gear out there willing to buy a pedalboard than Beh users... It makes perfect business sense to target the larger demographic group. They found a hole in Boss's range and filled it with essentially a Boss product (just with "Beh" written on it). |

Hi hateandwar
You have made a minor misinterpretation Jake. I wrote: quote:
A little over a month ago, & friend & I purchased the new BehringClone PB600, 6 way pedal boards.
The PB600 came from CC Light & Sound.
I too have seen the PB1000 fro around $179au. From what I have been told, The PB1000 does not move very well, & you may be able to use that to lever a better price.
Perhaps you might try CC's for a better deal on the PB1000, they were the cheapest when it came to the crunch on the 600.

Yes I did! I am going to be spending a bit of time this week building up a usable rig. So far it seems like a really nice piece of kit! It is bigger than I was expecting, but that's not really an issue for me. |

Yeah, better quality cables is getting higher and higher on my priority list. ANyway, here's my first attemp at sorting my board....

The Biyang delay, and EHX Small Stone and Small clone will go through the effects loop. I will also be adding my Vox wah to the end of the other chain.
So..... TU-2 -> SD-1 (MIJ) -> TS9-DX -> SD-2 -> Tech 21 Double Drive -> DF-2 -> DS-1 (Modded to Keeley spec) -> HZD -> Vox Wah
Through the effects loop... Small Stone -> Small Clone -> Biyang AD-7
Any thoughts? |

Looks good, I really need to get better quality patch leads, I use wawrick ones which take up lots of space and are prety crappy tbh. Would love some george l's but at a tenner for a single patch lead will soon add up |

I use the planet waves pedalboard kit..the jackplugs are a bit bulkier than George L's but you can cut the cable to any length ypu want and they are really easy to make all you need is a small flathead screwdriver to attach the jack to the cable(they give you the cablecutter in the box)..the kit here in a shop in Dublin was 50 and you get 10 jacks plus a good few feet of cable..( i think maybe 10 ft can't remember)....i know i have some left over somewhere for the alterations that will surely come one day.... ......nice pedalboard BTW DasBeef.... |

Hi DasBeef
Looks pretty good. I see you are running one of Laurie's Custom HDZ pedals?
---off topic a bit--- Can you give me a run down on how it affect your sound?
I know it has a High-Impedance input into a Bipolar transistor, instead of the more common FET input types.
For one thing. I know you will be getting more high frequency sparkle out of your gear.

Yeah, I managed to score the HZD in wee trade between myself and Laurie. How does it affect my sound? Well, this is what I would say..
This pedal, to me sits somewhere in between Fuzz and Distortion when cranked, but it is quite easy to coax a nice overdrive type sound out of it. To my ear it gives a slightly compressed sound. The pedal can be run off of different voltages (up to 24v I think) but I have only had the chance to run it off of 9v. It certainly does add high end sparkle, and is really good for dirty boosts, and pushing my valve amps. I've had more of a chance to play it through my Epi VJ, with a Strat, and as a stand alone pedal, and I was happy with the result. In the above pic, you will see it's near the end of my chain (using this board with my Blackstar HT-5). I've been using it in the board to boost my other pedals, and it does the job brilliantly. I will note that teaming it up with the Biyang Fuzz gives a really good sound. Adds a good bit of high end to the muddy-ish sound I'm getting out of the Fuzz. Also teams up very nicely with the TS9DX. When teaming it up with any of these pedals, it seems to add endless sustain, which is nice! I might even try sticking it after the fuzz when I mess about with the board a bit more. I have had only a limited chance to use this pedal since building the above board with my new amp, as I literally only put the board together the day I posted the pic, and had my first chance to jam it properly today. It was lots of fun! I will also add that I am looking forward to trying this pedal with a higher voltage supply when I get the chance.
Dunno if that's what you were looking for Dr. Bob, but if you have any more questions either post them here, or fire me a PM. |
