hi there! I got a DC-3 off ebay recently and IT DOES NOT WORK! It is like this: when the pedal is connected to the PSA, its LED lights up very faintly, regardless of whether it is on or off. Stomping on the switch does not do anything. When everything is properly connected, it does let the signal through, but the effect can't be turned on. I opened it up, but it is way too complicated for me to fix.
Basically, I see two options: a) throw it away
or
b) have an expert fix it.
Obviously, having the pedal fixed would be the way to go, but I don't know anyone who'd be capable of such a feat.
Do you have any idea what could be wrong with it? Do you know anyone in (preferably) Europe who could repair it?
Cheers! |

| If the ebay auction claimed that the pedal worked, you could always file a complaint or whatever kind of stuff they do to handle that on ebay. |

You might want to check with Andreas at http://www.stinkfoot.se ...
Without a circuit diagram (I've never seen one for the DC-3) it's tough to diagnose where the problem might be -- though it sounds power supply related (directly or indirectly). first thing I'd be suspicious of is something causing overall low voltage in the circuit, by virtue of the fact that (a) you're getting signal bypass and (b) the footswitch is not activating the effect.

Indeed, I'd start looking at the power section. Protection diode, filter caps and such - anything that might drop the voltage. Other than that, it'd take a schematic (haven't seen one either) and a lot of know-how to trouble-shoot the circuit. If you (or a tech near you) can spot any obvious faults, it'd probably be best to try to get your money back. That is, of course, provided that the auction claimed it worked but it arrived in this condition.

And there is the rub. The seller stated that he did not know, whether it worked or not. Should have been more careful
