Hi there everybody! Im looking for a powered mixer, and I found here in my city a 2x350W behringer powered mixer... I tried it with Peavey speakers, and it sounded very well.. Does anyone here have experience with Behringer PA gear? What is your opinion on it? Is it reliable? Will it last? |

| I have a lot of Behringer PA gear and it seems to be OK. No failures in the last 7 years. |

I must agree. My friend had 2 powered mixers die on him. While affordable, I hate to see folks waste their hard-earned money. I'm sure *some* Behringer equipment may be alright, PAs for instance.. what, a speaker in a cabinet.
Same goes for Bugera amps. My son likes the tone but I almost twisted the knobs off in the store. Damned plastic shafted knobs. What else are they cheap about.. sub-par traces on PCBs? who knows. |

Soo... I actually OWN and regularly use a bunch of Behringer PA gear. All picked up cheap because no one seems to like it.
- 5 mixing boards and DJ consoles - 10+ rack-mount FX, compressors, and EQ boxes - 1 power amp - 1 set of 15+horn speakers - probably 10 microphones
In addition to that I have several guitar pedals and foot switches.
I'm a sucker for a deal... and nearly all this stuff came as bits and pieces in other deals.
Anyway. My direct experience has been that the gear is reliable. I have only had problems with one mixing board and that's because someone spilled something into the faders. Not really the equipment's fault Impossible to get parts though - the gear is made to be thrown away. No real problem though, the stuff is cheap so I just bought a "doner" board and stripped it for parts.
I'll be the first to admit the gear has "cheap-and-cheerful" sound quality rather than top end quality, but the question was about reliability. If you are careful about where you use it from a sonic perspective, I believe Behringer is a good option.

Behringer is crap all around crap. Here is a true story about Behringer. I was working a show and the venue was to have racks and stacks to meet our rider. I had tube comps x4 CH on the rider. And i expect to see Avalon, Empirical labs, Universal audio or even aphex 661, But NO. They sent a runner out to get new comps from Sam ash before we got there. Behringer t1952. There sound was awful, I had it patched into a Midas H3000 that we were carrying. But the best was yet to come. Got a 30 min sound check in everything was ok. Show time and now all my vocal mics are dead, I'm in a panic asking if anyone has changed anything on the desk or racks I get a NO! So i pull all the inserts out from the Midas and i have my vocal mics Back. Some how the Behringer is dead. I opened it up and it was cooked on the inside, and the tube had shot out of the socket. It didn't even make it to show time. |

Wow.... ..i was considering the T1953 tube mic pre for a while...glad i didn't get it now.... i got a SM audio TB-202 tube mic pre instead .....less lights and fancy stuff than the behringer but seems robust and solid and fits into my rack great... |

| most of the behringer "tube" gear never really is, its always got such a low volatage on the tube so its easy to power and breaks up easy, as we know the nice smooth sound we all know and love comes from powering vavles properly not giving them 9v and lighting them with a yellow LED, all of the TL Audio copying Beh gear is infact a massive dud. |

Yeah, I'd be careful about getting anything they say has a tube, here's an interesting look at the LEDs that are there to make the tube look like its working... http://www.audiomasterclass.com/arc.cfm?a=will-you-ever-buy-behringer-equipment-again-after-reading-this

Oh man !!
This sounds like april fool jokes to me.
I like Behringer gear for its excellent quality/price ratio but frankly if budget is not really an issue it wouldn't be my first choice (does this make sense ?) |
