What are the opinions about this?

Is it really as cool as it seems?

Well, assuming all goes as it should I will be the elated owner of this wicked piece of Boss history within a week or two.

I've been saving some money for one of the holy trinities. But this seemed more fun than a simple little SG-1 or VB-2, and slightly cheaper. So I nabbed it.

Can't wait to fiddle around with this weird pedal board.

I think I'm going to use it first as a playground for my dirt pedals. To see which sound better in what chain position.

Now I have to give the wife the same amount to spend on whatever she wants. Fair is fair I guess. But is it fair if it's all my money?

There's the money you hide from taxes and then there's the money you hide from your wife to buy guitars and gadgets! Simple fact of life

Can't wait to hear how the SCC-700 will work out for you - how much did you spend?

Paid $320. I haven't seen many on ebay so I hope it is at least a reasonable price.

Everything in its right place.

The board.

The Control Center.

Buttons.

More buttons.

Power Unit.

Back of Control Center with Power Unit taken out.

Ins and outs.

Under the Control Center.

Pedal spaces.

Remote Foot Controller and connection cable all strapped up.

Switch example.

It's as heavy as an amp.

Didn't come with a power cord. Had to buy one off ebay. So within a day or two I'll be able to test out the programmability and sounds. Gives me time to read up on the manual.

Hi

Looks good, what are the cracks on the buttons board?
Keep us up to date with your experiments.

The cracks are from aged plastic. It is just a flimsy thin layer of plastic covering the buttons.

It looks nice.

Does anyone know if/where you can get those connectors that screw down to the board? I might want to try some of those on a self made board to hold down and connect my pedals.

The cables of the connectors have a patent. I don't know if that would apply to the connectors also.

Sorry for the delay. The power cord I ordered took a full week longer than expected to reach my home. I just hooked everything up a couple of days ago. It's a lot of fun! I have six dirt pedals and my PQ-4 set up right now and am experimenting with different combinations.

A couple disappointments. But nothing serious:

Silver screw pedals cannot be screwed to the board once connected because of their flush jacks. However, they can still be used just not screwed down. There is a similar problem with my Maxon GE-01. The jacks are set too high on the pedal so it too can be used but not screwed down. The same might also be said for Ibanez pedals because they are basically Maxons, but I don't own an Ibanez pedal so I can't say for sure.

Another thing that disappointed me was the Gain Write button. I was hoping that it could set the gain for each individual pedal in a program, but it only sets the overall gain of each program.

On a side note the Control Center uses three UM-3 batteries as back up for the memory. They look just like AAs. Can anybody tell me their difference?
