What 3 Boss pedals could you never give up, no matter what stylistic or other equipment changes you might go through in your entire musical career?
1) Note I'm asking for YOUR 3 essential Boss pedals...not the 3 everyone must own. If you couldn't live without your Super Shifter, a pedal not everyone has a use for, make it known!
2) The TU-2 need not count in your group 3 unless you want it to.

For me, these are the three: DM-2, RT-20 (if twin pedals are eligible...), and the FZ-2.
The DM-2, because it creates an ambience that can't be reproduced otherwise.
The RT-20, because I love the sound of a rotary speaker, but will never have the money to buy one nor the nerve to keep lugging it around wherever I go.
The FZ-2, because the fuzz sound is so unique and the gain boost is always a nice thing to have.
Overdrive, distortion, and tremolo sounds can all be had with a decent amp, so there is no real need for them, if push comes to shove, is there?
Other likely candidates would be flangers, phasers, or chorus pedals, but I have already picked my fab three, so there you go. |

RV-3 - its just so versatile
OD-1 - Perhaps OD-3 - can't decide
CE-2 - it dosn't get any better

RE-20, Keeley-modded BD-2...don't really need anything else, but I suppose a good CE-2 will work.
Still gotta have a tuner though... |

this is not easy for me at all...um...i'm gonna go with:
XT-2 [of course] - can't imagine my setup without it... DD-20 - pretty much takes care of 80% of my needs, delay/mild reverb/noise/looping ODB-3 - it's just really versatile, mild boost to very heavy/noise, and for some strange reason i love it with my strat... |

Did this thread get restarted? I could have sworn I'd already posted to it. Oh yeah - BossArea noticed it too. Similar to the "travelling light" thread
Anyway, my list has changed in the last few days because I've had a taste of a couple of new pedals...
1) MT-2 - this was surprisingly good when I tried it last night 2) don't make be choose between a CE-2 and PH-3 3) DD-3 (must have a delay )

*chorus- ch-1 *delay- dd-3 *any od/pedal that can give me almost both sounds- currently a modded ds-1. one thing i liked about my now dead ps-3 super shifter was i could get the following sounds out of it by playing with the settings: delay (up to 2 secs.) chorus, strong chorus (almost like flange), chorus and short delay/reverb, harmony effects. so the ps-3 essentially freed up one more pedal space add another pedal which i used sometimes to for an od( if i brought the hm-2), or another delay pedal preset to a different setting from the one in the ps-3. i used to limit my pedals to 3 but now its 5. |

that's what i'm talking about dude...
also, how are people who normally run a minimum of 10 pedals at any given time suppose to choose only 3?...it's just unfair...haha... |
