| My VB-2 with s/n 236800 has a green label. I doubt that is has ever been changed when considering the pedal and backplates overall mint condition. I believe that it is the original backplate. What is your reason to doubt it is original? |

good thing we have bossarea.com forum to check out potentially fishy things out first.
I would hate it if people got ripped off by dodgy sellers on eBay |

I've collected a lot of serial numbers and there are VB-2s made later with black labels. Also the green labels seem to pop up from January 1984 (serial 38xx00) on CE-2, CE-3, BF-2 and some others. Strange if they were introduced on VB-2s a year earlier but not consistently.
I think the green label was introduced because of the FCC rules. Anyone know when these came into effect? |

I've never tried one, but is the VB-2 actually that good/useable? Obviously the scarcity of it inflates the price, but is it worth it? My HM-2 is probably my favourite pedal and I got it for near peanuts, I guess it's not that rare, but it sounds great. |

I believe there was a discussion a long time ago about this when it came up in a thread. If Im not mistaken I think someone had checked and the FCC rules came into effect sometime around 1981. |

VB-2, SP-1 etc are way too overpriced people. I mean I am all for everything you know with free market and all but I am sure 9 out of 10 people would not be able to tell if they A/B'd a clone and the real thing. Many of the pros now use modellers as well.
