CEB-3. I'm finding more and more I prefer effects designed for bass. The crybaby bass wah, the CEB-3... they just give the tone more body (or they leave the bass alone and only effect the mids+uppers).

HF-2. See above.

DD-3 (long chip). Needs knobs, but the price was right.

Hello Fellow Addicts er... Enthusiasts !

Today I went to the coast and traded a nice gentleman for some pedals he did not want any longer. He got a brand new (NIB) microphone, Audio-Technica cardioid vocal mic. I got a (non-Boss) overdrive pedal, another guitar item, and his dead CH-1 Super Chorus.

It's a made in Taiwan Red Label CH-1, S/N TJ94016. Perhaps someone can tell me the year on that?

Funny thing though -- on getting it home and putting a battery in, it appears to function like a chorus pedal!!

Though I'm not sure how to set the dials on this thing, (maybe someone has some tips? ) I think we are both happy we got a good trade!! It didn't come with a box or papers, but I am happy that I resurrected a dead Boss pedal!

Just got a DC-2 in really nice shape. They had it listed at $230, I walked out paying $150.

Not a great deal, but Hey I have a DC-2 now. Very cool sounding pedal. Any thoughts?

My LS-2 came in the mail today. According to the decoder it's made in May 1998. It has a silver label. It's in really nice shape for a ten-year-old pedal.

Now I can do A/B comparisons of different overdrives!

New (used) SD-1 arrived today. Unknown date, no label (darn that velcro!). Came with a box saying Made in Taiwan.

Compared to the July 1985 MIJ it sounds similar yet less musical... seems to filter out some bass and favor midrange. Sounds a bit thinner, tinnier than the MIJ.

Peeking at the PCB I notice lots of differences in component type, but very similar layout. JRC 4558 in both machines. The pedal came with a PSA-120-T that puts out 9.5 volts on a meter.

Hooray !! Today the mailman brought two new goodies. A BF-2 Flanger from Japan, April 1985, And a early Taiwan FZ-2 Hyper Fuzz (April 1993).

The fuzz is definitely "Hyper"! But I really like the clean boost function. It's got a pair of Mitsubishi M5218AL chips, whatever they are.

The flanger has a pair of JRC 4558DD's, an MN3102, an MN3207 and a Texas Instruments J445A2.

Those of you keeping track of this type of data are welcome to it.

I got a DD-7 a couple of weeks ago. It's probably my favourite pedal now, the analog mode is great. Overall i think its alot better than the DD-6.
