Howdy all

This is my first post here, I was told about it from a another forum.

My old Boss CS2 Compressor decided to stop working. The light comes on, and will occasionally work until I engage it. What I mean is If I stick a battery in it I will get signal to the amp, engage the pedal nothing, no signal, turn it off again nothing...no signal to amp

I want to try and figure out how to repair this on my own rather than give it to a repairman. Also I really like this pedal. I am reasonably handy with a soldering iron and a mutimeter. I have built a couple of tube amps.

If anyone could give me a bit of an idea of the trouble shooting process I would be very grateful.

Thanks

Hi RichardG

Welcome to the forum.

What happened to your CS-2 just before is stopped working?

And are you working with/from a schematic or just the pedal & your knowledge?

Regards Dr. Bob

I'll take some photos as I have it in bits.

Prior to turning it on, I had not used it for maybe a month. In that period of time my music room/shed flooded. No gear got physically wet but it was dank and grim for a while. I am in Queensland Australia the land of heat and humidity.

I will fiddle around some more and see if I can post some better comments regarding the symptoms.

Thanks for your responses.

Hey Doc Bob. No Schematic just a magnifying glass and a vague hope I will see a burnt resistor or something.

I spent some time looking through the posts on this board, there seems to be a lot of Aussies here.
