i have a dod 250 reissue that i want to mod as it is a fairly simple pedal and is of no great importance/loss to me. so do any of you guys have websites to recommend or ideas on what to do with it?
What sort of mod, were you thinking of? The DOD 250 is basically an opamp gain stage, with back to back clipping diodes to ground, on it's output.
maybe changing the clipping diodes to LED's or an asymmetrical set of diodes 1 x 1N4148 or 1N400x type and 1 x Germanium diode
Or as MoonWatcher has been experimenting with: a couple of MOSFETs type 2N7000 or a couple of the IRFxxx series.
Changing the in out caps for more/less bottom end? or pull both diodes & cap, out of the circuit, for more of a Booster type pedal. Maybe put a socket in, & experiment with different opamps?
cheers dr bob. im not too sure what i want to do with it yet, probably changing a few components to start with. i know jaycar sells alot of stuff, but do they sell the things im looking for?
im probably going for more even bass (you loose a bit as you turn the gain up) and possibly a more pronounced midrange. maybe even a midrange booster? if that is possible...
