Hi Boss Area User Members,

I have 2 requests for help.

1. I'm in search of Pictures of the internal wiring of an FT-2 Pedal.
I need to see the wiring from the EXP, Input and Output jacks to the
main board, also the LED board & DC Jack wiring to the main board.

Someone gave me this pedal pulled apart I'm trying to piece it back together. Does anyone know if the Expression jack is a tip ring sleeve type, this is missing from the pedal also.

2. What diode & resistor do you remove, then jumper on a PH-2 pedal to convert it from ACA to PSA power.

Does anyone have Service Notes in PDF for FT-2 & PH-2?

I've got an FT-2 at home, if I remember, I'll take pictures for you and describe it. If I don't, sorry but I'm forgetful.

Yeah, the FT2 takes a stereo jack for the EXP, shoot me a pm and I'll send you a copy of the FT2 service schemes.

For the PH2, its D5 and R10. It's easier to lift one end of one of the comps and jumper the pads, in this case, its pad 6 n 7

good luck, and welcome to the forum!!

Hi escaisey

Welcome to the forum from Australia.

Don't forget, you can always use the 2nd pedal powered by a daisy chain technique-trick, on your PH-2.
That way you won't have to mod it, to power it from the PSA adapter.

Thats true about the daisy chain trick, but what happens when you want to go in Classic mode (CE2,PH2,HF2...) all the pedals are ACA?

Hi escaisey

There is a couple of pictures of the FT-2 here in the internals thread.
Unfortunately the 2 pictures (links) don't show the jack wiring.
http://www.bossarea.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4147&whichpage=1

The PSA - ACA info is here:
About half way down the page - thanks to Stinkfoot once again.
http://www.bossarea.com/other/aca.asp

Can I ask if you are running some other PSA 9VDC pedals on your board?
But as Christo mentioned in the previous post,
you will not be able to use the, 2nd pedal Power daisy chain trick, if you are running all ACA 12VDC Unreg. pedals.

Regards Dr. Bob

Hi Dr. Bob

Until I started reading posts in the forum I always wondered why the PH-2 only worked when attached in a daisy chain now I know.

Most of my boss pedals are PSA powered, I recently converted my HF-2, that's working okay. My pedals are normally powered by the SKBPS25 Pedal Board, That has work's for me. I used to have ACA adapters but I do not have them anymore, they broke, and unlike the PSA there were no screws to open them up and fix them.

Hi Christo,

I worked on the Boss PH-2 ACA Mod today.

I think you made an error with the resistor location It should be R9
not R10.

If you take out R10 the pedal will not work.

on the PH-2 Schematic that I found on the internet D5 & R9 are liked together.

You can correct me if I'm wrong.

Best!

Sorry, it is R9, must of been confused with another schem I had open at the time
Guess its just easier to lift the diode instead.

Here's the latest with the Ft-2 Pedal.

I connected the wires back, the pedal seems to be working normally
as far as the Audio Signal goes.

The Expression Pedal jack works as it should.

I can get the bypassed signal and effected signal no problem.
All controls work as expected.

These are the new issues:

Powering the Pedal from a battery does not work, and No Audio passes through pedal in bypass mode with the Battery Alone.

Thanks!

escaisey

Thanks for the Confirmation of R9.

For the FT-2 would I need to remove R4 & D2 for the ACA -> PSA Mod?
