Hi there! This is my first post here. I got my first Boss pedal in 1984 and it was a DF-2. Then I sold it and got a BOSS BE-5. After that I got a KORG A4. So, after a long time of making mistakes, I deicided to sel my KORG 4 in January and begun to buy stomp pedals again and that was the best dicison I ever made! So, my setup is: GTR --> TU 2 --> MAD CAT (its an amazing distortion stomp pedal made here in Rio in Rio de Janeiro,Brazil. Everybody is bying this pedal, even if people from the showbusiness! Its like Turbo Rat, I think)--> OD 1 (JAPAN with JRC 4558) --> MXR Micro Amp ---> BF2 (japan with JRC)--> Ibanez Super Stero Chorus SC 10 --> RV3. I play hard rock music like the old bands from 1982/83 and I need an equalizer now. Every guitarist loves the BOSS GE7 and Im in love with that pedal too. Are there ANY differences between the Japanese version and the Taiwan version? I want to get the best! No more mistakes!
God bless you all!

Welcome to the form Johnny! I heard that there is NO difference between Jap pedals and Taiwan pedals. So I'd go with either. |

| welcome, John! I've never compared MIJ/MIT GE-7s, but my older MIJ GE-7 is pretty noisy. I'm going to hold off judgment on this GE-7 until the schematic and service notes I ordered arrive, but in the meantime I recommend trying before you buy (preferably with your complete setup) if at all possible. |

For what it's worth... I own a few MIT and a few MIJ pedals and I think there is definitely a difference between many of them. I can't speak too much about the components used, as I am not that "electronically savvy" but regarding tone, God gave me a pretty good set of ears. I have a MIJ GE-7 and it worked really great back when I used to use it.
My comparison results of MIJ vs MIT: CE-2 MIJ vs CE-5 MIT CE-2 MIJ for sure
SD1 MIJ vs SD1 MIT SD1 MIJ for sure
CS-1 MIJ vs CS-3 MIT Both Good...different sounds
DD-2 MIJ Vs DD-6 MIT DD-2 Hands Down
Just my thoughts...Others are way more knowledgeable about this than I am though.
Merry Christmas, Roger

If you share a PSA type Boss pedal in a daisychain with an ACA type Boss pedal the ACA will work fine with a PSA adaptor. There are some topics here on the forum about that that can be of help, if you do a search.
