So I was wondering what the difference was between the incarnations of the Wem Copicat. I know at one point they switched from Valve to solid state. I have the oppurtunity to get one in very good condition, recently serviced for �150, is that a good price? Specifically, are the older valve ones worth many times more to reflect their superior heritage to the slightly later solid state units, or is there not much of a difference?
I can't comment on the differences, but I have a friend who has been gigging a Copicat since new, and it's still going. I spoke to him about it a while back, and he said the only thing was getting replacement tape loops. I think he found some on eBay for a few pounds each. I reckon �150 for a real tape delay sounds OK.
