| Got a FZ-3 that I like the tone of, but can never get enough output (possibly because of the GT-2 in front of it). Any suggestions? |

| I would try to test it as the only pedal in the effect chain first. If it works ok you know that the problem is that the signal out of the GT-2 is too low. |

| I got lots of output from my FZ-3, no problem at all. Check for a bad battery? |

Problem seems to be that the level of the SansAmp GT2 (Calif /clean/ off axis/ level 50%/ drive less than 25%) creates a signal that is so strong that even with the fuzz output level @100%, the fuzz can't cut through a live mix properly. Have the same problem w/ DS-2: it will only cut through when set to turbo. However, I can't really bring down the level of the GT2 cuz I need balance b/n it on & when I switch it off for a clean tone. SO, the real question is: can the fuzz / DS-2 be physically modified to increase the output level? THANX |

I beleve that it can be modded for higher output. Stinkfoot would know for sure. |

my FZ-3 is somewhat schizophrenic... one night I'll have to crank the level up almost all the way to make the fuzz effect louder than the direct signal, and the next night there's plenty of gain. (most recently, it was a guitar with a high-output humbucker that had little gain, and a bass with P/J pickups that had plenty of gain.)
but if you like the FZ-3, check out the FZ-2. I just got one; it's great sounding and so much more versatile than the FZ-3 (and no gain issues either). the Fuzz I setting of the FZ-2 is very close to the sound of the FZ-3.... |

I also highly recommend FZ-2 before FZ-3, you could make a lot of noise with it and the clean-boost is also useful (and powerful, look out so you dont blow up your amp) |
