Hmmmmm... looks a bit sus. Wouldn't mine seeing the actual label where he claims it says MIJ. Still could be a switched bottom plate even if it says MIJ.
I wouldn't buy it. |

| Stratman: I don't doubt that it has a MIJ plate at the bottom, but I'm suspicious that it's been the victim of the old switcheroo like you've mentioned, either by this seller or someone else. I won't get it - the disappearance of the serial number is just too convenient - unless someone can confirm their MIJ DS-2 has the small AC jack like this one. |

I have a MIJ DS-2, silver label on bottomplate. There is a picture on Bossareas Labelgallery.
I bought it for around $50 and the seller said nothing about that it was a MIJ, so I´m sure it´s not a fake. I was very surprised when I saw it was MIJ, I was of course sure it was a MIT I has bought.
I have seen a few for sale before, here in Sweden.

No, I'm not disputing that there are MIJ DS-2s, but that this particular unit is not a genuine MIJ DS-2, but a regular MIT with a MIJ label or bottom switched from another pedal. Since the serial is absent, it's impossible to tell its age, hence why I was focusing on the AC jack.
Does your MIJ DS-2 have the small AC jack or the one that goes all the way to the bottom of the pedal? In hindsight I suppose I could've asked if the label was silver, which would be suggestive that it was genuine, but since it's no longer for sale it's all moot. |
