Pedal not working, traced problem to IC9 using a signal tracer with a 1kHz signal. More info in tread below. The thread from the link below was brought from the Schematics area to Mods and Tech as the subject moved fom schematics to repair. http://www.bossarea.com/forum/topic.asp?whichpage=2.53333333333333&TOPIC_ID=1320#43549 Will post again when I obtain parts. I am not familiar with this pedal so any advice or information will be graciously accepted. Steve |

It's fixed! It was IC9 a triple analog switch/multiplexer. The chip that was in the unit had been replaced before with a chip bearing the 4053# (HEPC4053C), original according to schematic was HD4053. Problem is the HEPC4053C is a Phase Lock Loop not a switch. Found it by inputing a 1kHz sine signal at the input and using a signal tracer to follow the signal through the circuit. It stopped at IC9. Signal went in but didn't come out. ssanyee, thank you for the schematic. I had tried to troubleshoot it before without them and I didn't get far. The pedal works great Steve |

Hi Stevecg
A well deserved congratulations...
It's difficult enough to diagnose circuit faults, without some UNINFORMED bugger substituting incorrect parts.
Let alone ones with different functionality.
You must be feeling pretty proud & good, for chasing this hairy fault down, AND WINNING.
Regards Dr. Bob |
