you know, I really want to get a SP-1 someday, even if my PQ-4 (my most expensive Boss pedal thus far, at about $110 US off eBay last year) can do everything the SP-1 can do, and more (and my PQ-50 1/2 rack can do even more than the PQ-4 can!). but holy hand grenade, this one is already up to $380 after just one day!!!!

hmmm, I guess I really only need *one* kidney.... or maybe I'll buy another powerball lottery ticket.

If I had vintage gear like a Sp-1. I'd be staying home every night Q tipping my pedals!

I know that I'm gonna catch hell for this but.....What a freakin rip off! I'd never pay that much for a pedal! The max I'd go is $200 for any vintage pedal, but $500 for an SP-1? The buyer should be taken out back and slapped around like a red headed stepchild until he (or she, but probably he) comes to his senses. Ok, I'm done.

nah, you won't catch hell from me....

nothing personal against the high bidder of that SP-1, but even if I had the kind of disposable income to drop $500 on ONE FRICKIN' PEDAL, I don't think I could do it. but then I've never paid more than $500 for any one piece of gear... which means that like Jilty, I'll probably never own a SP-1 either (esp. since my PowerBall lotto tickets turned out to be expensive toilet paper)....

I'm not giving up hope (even though it's not burning bright) and neither should you Pawnshop. I mean, have you read the BOSS book, some random guy happen to collect 18 SPECTRUMS (in the last 7 years) most of em work and look great, he also has a shit load of other pedals. I won't pay 500.00 for a SP-1. I just hope that I can find someone that dosen't realize how much it's worth.

I'd prefer to buy a Jim Dunlop Crybaby QZ-1. Same thing with a volume knob, much cheaper.

But walrus, isn't the Q Zone pedal supposed to mimic a wah pedal set in one place? and if so is the SP-1 the same type of effect?

According to some people yes. According to the guy who was selling the pedal yes, and he has used it and I haven't.

I was hoping I could use the SP1 that way as I sometime like to turn my crybaby on and leave the pedal halfway down. The SP-1 wasn't even close to giving me that effect.
The frequency response should be marked hump in the middle for both. I suspect the SP-1s hump just isn't narrow enough in the frequency band.
