Not meaning to hijack thread, but I'm just curious as the tonal differences between the DM-2/3s and the DD-2/3s. I know the DMs are analog and the DDs are digital, but how do they sound vis-a-vis?
I have a DD-2 that sounds great, but am thinking of adding a 2nd delay to my board.
Would a DM-2/3 and a DD be a good match together on a pedal board? |

Thanks for all of the responses guys. It seems the consensus might be that the DM2 might not be as sensitive as the DM3 with the oscillations(?). As I turn the repeat rate (time) down on DM2, the repeats also lessen (to maybe 6 repeats?). I dont mind 300 ms of delay time, but this is something that I wish I could remedy with the trim pots. At 3:00 and beyond, the repeat rate knob causes oscillations, but only with the intensity knob cranked. I do like having the Echo control (effect level knob) though so you can control the volume of the oscillations.
BTW, the DM3 does not have spill over (trail off when you switch the pedal off). A few other 3 series pedals do have it like the PS3 and RV3. Not sure what else. I'm sure you can find more info here on that subject though.
Trickydee, The DM2/DD2 combo does sound pretty nice. I use my DD2 for longer repeats that seem to get slightly "fizzy" as they eventually dissipate with the feedback cranked. I like that. And the hold function, while its capable of 1 second of looping is loads of fun to jam with, and you can pitch shift the loop with the delay time knob
I believe the DD3 does this as well. Never owned a DD3, but I will compare when I can. |
