hi, i couldn't find another post about this, but lemme konw if there is one:#13;#10;#13;#10;i have a DM-2 that the LED has apparently gone bad in. pedal still works and sounds perfect, i just can't tell when it's off or on. #13;#10;#13;#10;what is my best plan of action?#13;#10;i have no problem popping it open and changing it out, but what kind do i need?#13;#10;#13;#10;longtime reader, firsttime poster.#13;#10;#13;#10;thanks!#13;#10; |

Hi and welcome to the forum.
A 3mm red LED should do the trick. They come in different flavours like flashing or high intensity but go for the normal type (which is probably also the cheapest).
Be aware that there's also a Zener diode and a resistor between the +9V supply and the LED. There's always a chance that the diode has died and that LED is ok. |

ok
i'm assuming that the check SLP-135B is the LED? is that right?
the only thing i've ever opened was a BF-2 with a space-mod to turn a trim knob and take a bit of noise out if i remember right. |

ok, is there anyone out there who knows what kind and where to get a replacment LED for boss pedals?
are they all the same part?
any help is greatly appreciated!

As far as i am aware, they are a standard 3mm red LED
available from any electronics supplier.
Be aware thought that LEDs come in many different light output intensity & the colour of the plastic on the LED can vary in shade from clear to various reds,
But it wont matter, unless you are looking for the exact colour match.
Sometimes a water clear lens LED (lights up red) can be a nice touch to an older pedal.
Dr. Bob's basic rule, any 3mm red LED will do.
Try the following places, depending on where you live.
Tandy, worldwide
Mouser, in the USA
Maplin, in the UK
Dick Smith, Jaycar, Altronics in Autralia
I Don't remember, the names of other suppliers in other parts of the world.
Hey Bossarea maybe we-actually you, could do a sticky thread of, a (list of suppliers) of electronic bits & spares, for various Countries, & parts of the world
