My first amp was an Ace Tone. I sold it for the princly sum of 30 trying to scrape together enough money to buy a Roland Spirit. |

Hi Bossarea & Guys
One of my first commercial amps ( I used to build all the others I played) Was a Roland Spirit 40, which I still own, & it's in 9.6/10 condition.
This amp even played a 2 day, street gig/festival, in front of embarrassingly too many people to mention. The sound guys were incredible, they miked it up with a SM57 & ran it into the 1.5K a side front of house array, & back into my fold-back wedge.
It was a memorable gig, I know I said it before, but the sound guys we tops, they made the little beast really roar. They did the same later the second evening, for an inside gig with a smaller rig.
And that's one of the reasons I won't sell this little amp. Rant mode off.
BTW Bossarea, which Spirit was it?
Regards Dr. Bob

| Mine was a Spirit 50. It sounds good but I don't think it has the 50W that it was supposed to have. I've got a 8 Ohm/350W resistor so I should connect it and measure the real effect. I still got the amp and it still works but it's been everywhere and shows the marks of it. |

I've been looking for a Spirit and/or a Bolt amp - they don't seem to show up very often .. at least not here i Denmark
And a lesson for all the youngsters - NEVER sell of your first gear.. I still miss my crappy first transistor amp - but maybe I'm just too sentimental?
Cheers |

I still kick myself in the ass for selling my Roland JC-160 when it was time to leave Japan. What an insanely great amp !
( The JC-160 was the 4-10" )
p.s. Kaz was probobly hoarding all this gear when I was there in the early 90's. |
