Having my volumecontrol all the way down when I need to come in with the guitar. Result: I need an few extra bars not to mess the song up too much.
Great fun when you need to start the song and you hit the strings and all you hear is SILENCE. I find it great fun, and keep saying to myself: "Check volumecontrol man...."[among all the other things you need to do within splitseconds of a moment before going into next song]
What kind of things do you do which make life on stage more fun/nightmare?? |

Similar...start singing at the beginning of the show and my mic is still turned off. Good times! |

I once fell off a drum stool - but I am so glad that this happened in a dream only! In my dreams I can also barely hit the correct keys on the piano. Sometime the dream is so intense that I'm still feeling heavily embarassed when I finally wake up.
But in real life I have never really messed up a gig or a song. Except last year I forgot to transpose a song so my sister had to sing very high. But that was okay, it still sounded good. |

Our singer likes to jump around on stage..afew times in the past he stood on the cord coming out of the last pedal on my board and pulled it halfway out of the output jack a bit like what happens to visserman... ..i now tuck it in out of the way and gaffa tape it to the floor to be 100% of it not happening again...of course i can't stop drunken punters falling in on top of me but a little push of a size 10 New Balance running shoe usually gets them out of the way... ....... |

Had a pedal in a chain crap out on me - unplugged the wrong one ..... mayhem followed Won't do that one again.
Jumped into an audience, only to be bear-hugged by a mate and couldn't move my arms as the solo came up......big mistake. Won't do that one again either.

I've only performed a few times live, on my first gig, the guy mixing said
"Put all your distortion pedal volume at the quietest & I'll mix it & turn it up for the chorus"
He didnt.
Blur's classic distorted chorus....
can anybouy hear that DS-1?
FAIL. |

I've had my battles with sound engineers over the years..most are cool people and musos themselves and will do their best for you... but sometimes..... ...a sound engineer who you don't know and not familiar with your material, knowing where and when to turn you up and down in the mix....i don't think so....live and learn bro'.... |

We've had a gig once with a horrible & drunk soundguy. He turned the PA up way too loud, resulting in distorting PA speakers. |

I'll never again trust a soundguy. They can say they'll boost you when needed but nine times outa ten it won't happen. I usually tell them to set me for my lead tones(in other words, my loudest setting) and I'll work the guitar's volume, turning it down drastically when I'm not playing a lead. I've just been burned too many times... |

we had a sound guy one time who didn't like screamed metal vocals, so he just turned off the singer's mic. it's been so long now, I can't remember any similar stories.. |
